As we progress through the decades, the evolution of technology has brought consumers and brands closer together than ever before. As we see more and more marketing avenues opening up for companies of all sizes, we also see the noise level rising.
People see ads from brands on nearly every app on their phone, every street corner on their way to work, and every website they visit on their computer. As a society, we’ve all generally accepted the idea that businesses can speak to us, but that doesn’t mean we have to listen.
Human-to-technology interaction evolved tremendously over the past decade, and contrary to common misconceptions, our attention spans are expanding as well. We all have natural ad-filters that develop in our brains over time. The more ads we see, the stricter our internal ad-filter becomes.
So, what does all that mean? It means every brand out there needs to work hard to build awareness and demand for their solutions and work even harder to keep new customers coming in, and existing customers coming back.
The best way to resonate with any audience today and be remembered among the noise is by knowing your brand’s story, and how to tell it. A lot of marketers out there are talking about storytelling now, so there’s a lot of different explanations floating around. In layman’s terms, storytelling in business means communicating in a way that places your customer as the hero, sympathizing with their challenges, and placing your brand as the tool/remedy/solution to help them overcome those challenges.
While the concept may seem simple, telling your brand’s story the right way is difficult. Every business is challenged to get their audience to pay attention to what their brand has to say, but only a select number succeed. If you want people to care about your brand’s story and listen to what you have to say, you will need some guidance to get there.
In the mobile, fast-paced world we live in, a lot of us consume information via podcasts. Podcasts make it easy to digest useful and complex information while driving, typing, or even treadmilling.
